Mating California Newts. Photo by Trent Pearce
California Center for Natural History and East Bay Regional Parks are teaming up to bring you a Valentine’s Day treat - nature walk meets happy hour! Join us for an evening tour of Wildcat Creek’s amorous amphibians, then mingle with fellow nature lovers at the Grizzly Bar and Grill, which will be open late with a full service bar and food menu just for the occasion. After the walk we’ll be at the restaurant for nature trivia (with prizes!), a dance floor, and drinks & food. Come for the amphibians, stay for the fun!
Bring a flashlight if you can- it will help you see the newts in the dusk.
5 pm: Meet at Grizzly Bar & Grill
5:15 - 6:30pm: Amphibian reproduction walk along Wildcat Creek (less than 0.25 mile flat walk from Grizzly Bar & Grill to our final point along Wildcat Creek)
6:30 - 9pm: Trivia and more at the Grizzly Bar and Grill
Sunday, Feb. 14, 5-9pm. Grizzly Bar & Grill, Tilden Regional Park Golf Course, Berkeley.
This is a free & drop-in event! Donations are always appreciated ($10-20 suggested donation).
