Face your arachnophobia or bathe in your arachnophilia on Friday, October 27th! Come on a naturalist-led walk into Joaquin Miller Park where we'll look for the many spiders that live amongst the trees and buildings here in the Oakland Hills. Large hackled-mesh weavers, false widows, and even the elusive Hyptiotes and trapdoor spiders have all been seen here. We'll also be armed with UV flashlights and look for fluorescing scorpions!

This is a free event, although there is a $20 suggested donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Ages 12 and up. Please RSVP at our Eventbrite Page so that we know how many people to expect. We will be meeting outside the gate at the intersection of Joaquin Miller Road and Robinson Drive (3598 Joaquin Miller Road). There should be plenty of street parking.

We will have UV flashlight that you can borrow or purchase, but please bring your own flashlight or headlamp and dress in layers!
