Tick Talk at Nerd Nite!
Summer is tick season. This year, it seems like ticks are in the news more than ever. Lo Scheiner, a CCNH naturalist, will talk about tick basics, like their life cycle and how to avoid bites, and also delve into the fascinating ways that ticks intersect with ecology, microbiology, and even conspiracy theories. She'll spend some time discussing Lyme disease, and why California barely has any cases … it involves lizard blood!
