Accessible Birding at MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline - SOLD OUT!

  • MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline Oakland, CA, 94621 United States (map)
An endangered Ridgway's Rail at MLK Jr. Shoreline Park

This bird-watching event is geared towards anyone who wants to get started with birding. The walk is fully ADA accessible and appropriate for people with mobility limitations.

Winter migration is underway, and we expect to see hundreds of birds along the shoreline of Arrowhead Marsh at the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline.  Naturalists Clay Anderson and Lo Scheiner will teach you some birding basics to get you ready for the winter migration season.

Clay Anderson is a lifetime naturalist and conservationist. He is currently an instructor in Environmental Education and Sustainable agriculture, and he sits on the Board of Golden Gate Audubon.  Lo Scheiner is a founding member of California Center for Natural History.

This walk is FREE. All ages are welcome. We will have binoculars available for you to borrow, and we'll also have warm beverages for you to start the morning right!

At this time the event is booked to capacity. We cannot accept any more RSVPs. If you'd like to see more events like this in the future, email us  at info@calnature.org and let us know!
